New CORGI Level 3 VRQ in Gas Auditing Processes qualification launched by CORGI Technical Services at Gas Safety Management Conference 2014

A new qualification for gas auditors – the CORGI Level 3 VRQ in Gas Auditing Processes – has been launched at the Gas Safety Management Conference 2014 by CORGI Technical Services.

Filling an important gap in the qualifications family delivered by CORGI Technical Services, the new qualification is designed for those who undertake gas audit work in any sector, including social housing, so that they can assess an organisation’s management of risk. It gives a detailed understanding of the role of a Gas Auditor and best practice procedures, as required by Gas Managers.

“There is currently no specific qualification to which you can refer to find out if your auditors have up to date qualifications and the right level of experience,” said Claire Heyes, Joint CEO of CORGI Technical Services.  “This new Level 3 VRQ has been accredited by EAL and was launched at the Conference. The qualification is a route which can lead to a Level 4 VRQ qualification.”

The course is a one day guided learning event taken by experienced CORGI tutors, followed by self-study modules and assessment based distance learning supported by CORGI tutors. Key areas covered include Gas Industry Legislation, Assessing Quality Control levels, Planning Gas Audit Processes, Assessing Gas Work and Effective Communications.

The Level 3 qualification is part of the family of qualifications that include the CORGI Level 2 VRQ Award in Gas Safety Awareness in Social Housing, and CORGI Level 4 VRQ Certificates in Gas Safety Management in Social Housing and Gas Safety in Facilities Management.

“The family of Gas Safety VRQs from CORGI Technical Services provides recognised qualifications for all levels of staff,” said Claire Heyes.  “We believe the Level 3 qualification will provide a much needed recognition of the knowledge and experience of gas auditors.”
