Residents from 20 homes spent the night in temporary accommodation after a gas leak and explosion at Hampshire house which left a woman with burns.
The blast on Sunday morning sparked a flash fire at the terraced property in Abbey Road, Basingstoke.
The injured woman remains in hospital in Salisbury but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
An investigation is under way and residents are likely to be able to return to their homes later.
Utility companies worked all day on Sunday and overnight to isolate the leak.
Southern Gas Networks said the area had been made safe and an investigation into what caused the explosion had begun, but it could take a couple of days.
Dennis Kirby, from Southern Gas Networks, said: “We are working with police to allow everyone back into their properties today.
“It’s going to take a day or two to fully work through to establish the exact cause of what happened.”
A police spokeswoman earlier said it was believed gas had built up in the walls of the house following a leak.
The explosion took place at about 09:30 GMT on Sunday and 20 neighbouring homes had to be evacuated.
Residents were advised to go to the Popley Fields Community Centre in Carpenter’s Down and many spent the night in a local hotel
