Kevin Winship, Technical Safety Manager for CORGI Technical Services, will be speaking at the Health & Safety Seminar for the Northern Housing Consortium on Wednesday 25th May 2016.
Kevin will cover two topics at the seminar:
- The duties expected of landlords under Regulations 35 and 36 of the Gas Safety Regulations (1998)
- The Gas Access Campaign – The Association of Gas Safety Managers (ASGM) and CORGI have joined together to create the Gas Access Campaign. The ASGM estimates that almost £500m is spent over a ten-year period on delays caused by tenants who refuse to allow the landlord access. The Gas Access Campaign proposes a new power of entry for social landlords that can be used to gain entry to carry out gas safety checks when tenants refuse. It also proposes an MOT style approach to gas safety checks which would allow checks to be carried out earlier while still retaining 12 months’ validity from the original expiry date.
The location of the Seminar is St George’s Centre, Great George Street, Leeds, LS1 3BR and it runs from 9am to 1.20pm.
