Housing Associations provide over two and a half million homes for about five million people in the UK.
The size of the Housing Associations varies significantly across the UK. Each one is responsible for a portfolio of properties ranging from 10 to 50,000 homes. Over 1,100 Housing Associations are responsible for more than 1,000 homes – a further 1,300 are responsible for less than 1,000.
We work with Housing Associations and private Residential Landlords to help them ensure the safety of tenants living in these homes and the staff who work in them:
- At Board level we work to raise awareness of the responsibilities that could include corporate manslaughter issues and compliance with legislation and regulations.
- We work with management responsible for managing gas safety within Housing Associations to help ensure policies, procedures, training, qualifications and best practice are of the highest standards
- Across the organisation, we work with other staff to raise awareness of gas safety issues
