United House wins second City redevelopment project

The project involves the conversion of a community centre on the estate, near Liverpool Street in east London, into 10 studio flats. Four shop storage units will also be converted into residential properties and a new community centre will be built.

Completion of the second phase of the scheme is slated for January 2013.

United House was awarded the project after it completed the £2.4 million first phase on time and on budget.

‘Our re-appointment for the second phase of this refurbishment is a sign of the strength of our ongoing partnership with the City of London Corporation,’ said Jeffrey Adams, group chief executive of United House. ‘This contract win demonstrates our experience in both social housing refurbishment and new build construction.’
